Why are police trained to have the warrior mentality?

All it leads to unnecessary shootings. Yet they're put in ACU type uniforms, outfitted with military weapons and encouraged to thinkin an us vs them mentality.

What is worse is that a large segment of the population defend their actions regardless of justification. They aren't acting as first responders. They're acting like an occupying force.

Government cannot turn against people. People can only turn against government.

Too many factors go into the whole "evil government" crap. First off people would be divided on if it's evil or not (the country is split right now on whether shit is okay or not as it is), and to take action against it, and then you act like hand guns and hunting rifles is enough to deal with police who are armed to the teeth, and then against the National Guard as well? Good luck.
