Huh......you're kinda right. Like Frodo never would have made it alone and Sam was determined till the end.

But then you have Aragorn, who really did unite and army and a whole nation, the fellowship was divided but absolutely vital till the end. I like to think of it this way, there is no main hero, more then a band of heroes who all served a greater purpose.

As blazed meme already said, it's clearly Tom Bombadil.

There's UNIRONICALLY an entire chapter dedicated to explaining this in the first book if any of you turbo-plebs were un-retarded enough to understand what the author was saying. Tom LITERALLY uses the ring as a nipple piercing because he gives so little fucks about anything. Then you have Gandalf explaning ONCE MORE to the council of Elrond how fucking rediculously powerful Tom is and how he can do whatever the fuck he wants and no one can stop him because he's fucking Tom Bombadil.

If that's not the main hero I don't who is.
