Who has the better singing voice, men or women?

I personally think women have a better voice for singing in general. I'm sure the wider vocal range has a lot to do with it but I feel like they have more energy and power behind their voice when they sing. In general.

Depends on the music. Men tend to fit better with rock but women sound better than men in pop. Mainly because guys who sing in pop are teenagers who sound like women.

In classical settings both have equal merits, although men can hit most of womens' ranges while virtually no women can cover the low ranges of men. In a non-classical setting women kind of shoe-horn themselves into a narrow zone of genres which makes them all sound the same, but I think if that weren't the case then we'd some interesting variety from them too.

Neither one is better than the other.
And it doesn't just depend on the person, it depends on what they're singing too.

Any answer is always going to be subjective. But I think women have a slight edge.

Guy singers never sound cute, and hearing a cute girl sing well in real life is almost magical, but then a really skilled guy singer can be the most motivating thing in the world.

Actually, it depends on who the fuck is singing. Western music isn't the only kind of vocalization out there.

It also depends on who likes what kinds of singing as well.

If gregorian chanting is your thing, then obviously men are going to be better suited for it.

Depends on the vocalist and the type of music that they sing to. There are great female leads in Rock, like Wolf Alice. Too bad they get overshadowed by shit ones like Evenessence (I don't give a shit how it's spelled) or Halestorm.
