His mindset and work ethic is unrivaled, he has motivated millions and can do anything he sets his mind to. Legendary

Benjamin Franklin

Ran away from home as a teen, started his own printing business and made many influential friends, becoming a powerful force in Philadelphia. He became a popular diplomat and created many inventions, also contributing to studies that influenced many scientific movement. This was a man who knew how to get what he wanted. Very intelligent, he knew how to influence people and make use of every second of his time. Very inspirational dude

Muhammad Ali

I wouldn't see why it'd be depressing, frankly. Putting too much faith into a role model can, has, and will backfire quickly.

The Rock

When I was a little kid watching WWF, The Rock was just the coolest and most likable dude ever. But I did hate him for a little bit for leaving to make movies instead of wrestle but I don't hate him anymore. He has all the money in the world and he always posts about him helping out his family and stuff. Its really great because when he was younger, he really didn't have anything at all and his mom struggled to keep food on the table. This one post I really liked was when he bought his mom a brand new SUV for Mother's Day. That is something I would love to do for my mom one day too.

I still think it's beneficial to have a role model.

I'm not saying that it's not. Everybody has role models whether they want to, or not, and, whether they are aware of it, or not. Parents, for example, act as role models. Always.

However. I just don't really see the particular point, in focusing on one in particular. And I don't see the point in aspiring to to be like them. Well, I do. But for myself, personally, that's not my game.

Now that I've actually done some thinking on the subject, however, I can acknowledge not role models that I focus and idolize on, but people who have taught me things.

You guys, for starters. The reason I stick around this place, is because I learn.

Different perspectives, different lives, bits and pieces of sound logic, and bits and pieces of things that may not make much sense, but they make me consider things.

I don't know about others here, but the talks and encounters with people over the years here has played a part in shaping me, and still continues to do so.

Would I idolize people in particular? No. But, I can take the good that is offered, and apply it to myself.

Idols are very motivational if they're aligned with your goals. They add their own perspective and ideas that people who have the same goals can try to mimic, helping them achieve similar results. Plus it's pretty fun

Sometimes I'll be in a situation and I'll ask myself something like "What would Arnold do if he were in a situation like this?" and then i react accordingly and it almost always turns out for the better/pushes me out of dat comfort zone
