Why is this even in Serious?
Quote from: Meta Cognition on January 10, 2015, 11:48:49 AMWhy is this even in Serious?Because its not just a discussion about a film. Its about the real happenings in this guys life, like PTSD and the people he has killed. If that is not a serious topic, then idk what is...
It might not be on par as Green Beret, but I doubt it won't have some Pro-America/War bias in it.Having said that, I'll watch it anyway because Clint fucking Eastwood made it, and he does good films, even if the reality behind the story isn't great.

Like Letters from Iwo Jima. I am not doubting that it wont have pro arguments entirely, but from its overall view point-its not an actual propaganda tool like Act of Valor was.
I can see what you're getting at, and I am not trying to rustly your jimmies man! I just hate that argument about propaganda movies. Its annoying.
Chris Kyle was a racist, a religious nut, and he boosted his kill count by shooting every male he saw above a certain age.Chris Kyle's behavior and attitude are a stain on the honor of the United States Armed Forces.Oh, and fuck you it is propaganda.

Its annoying. The trailer made it seem like there was gonna be a focus on his mental stability/the ethics and morality of what he did, instead of it just being another patriotism porn movie. Is that a fair assumption to make?
Quote from: AngryBrute on January 10, 2015, 12:50:39 PMxpanding on what I said, I hate it when people label things as that as an excuse to shit all over it.To be fair, the fact that something is a blatant propaganda excuse for a movie usually is enough of a reason to berate it.
