What were the 90s like?

As a new man of the world only being 15. I only experienced the end of the 90s being 1999. But for some reason I'm drawn more towards the 90s then any other time period. So tell me what was it like? My parents tell me that 90s were boring and everyone was poor, But there's got to be more then that right...... right?

Someone tried to give him something to eat and he had ten thousand spoons but all he needed was a knife. I guess he just wanted it that way. Probably practiced too much santeria.

I was born in 91, but from what I remember, family and friends use to be close and would do fun things often with each other. The outdoors seemed inviting and friendly, not so much of any of that now.

The biggest difference was the economic prosperity and lack of sensationalize fear of terrorism. You didn't have to pack your liquids in a special bag when you flew and you could meet someone at the gate.

The internet wasn't nearly as big and useful as it is now. No cell phones. The government didn't spy on you like it does now.

It kinda blows my mind that there are people young enough to not know what life was like before 9/11. It wasn't the 9/11 attacks that were bad - it's the domino effect that it had on our country that were worse.

My mum took hundreds of photos of me and my brothers when we were little, ones with all my relatives as well.

I don't actively dislike selfies, but there are times when they infuriate me to the point of eye twitching.
There is a poppy memorial display in the tower of london where they filled the moat with poppies to mark the centenary.
