What router and modem do you use?

I have a FiOS package that requires you to use their Actiontec brand, but I'm seriously considering a NETGEAR nighthawk (and doing a fancy work around). My family is huge and connects with devices on the wifi over long distances so it will be worth it.

The modems are always provided(forced) by my glorious internet overlords, Sasktel. So basically, one made by Westel from the 90s and a new one that just arrived in the mail but it was broken because sasktel don't actually give you new modems, they "repurpose" used ones.

As for routers, always the Linxus.

I'm forced to use the AT&T modem/router provided, but the wireless is shitty so I run a several-years-old Linksys router into it.

Some generic POS. I hardwire everything into it because the WiFi radios are so unstable.

A piece of crap that might as well be a potato with a coat hanger stuck in it, which is bad enough, but when you combine that with my shitty internet that is even shit by Australian standards, you end up with a connection that barely holds itself together.

My isp provided 2 in one modem and router. It's great it can run 2.4 and 5ghz frequencys. Ive tested both and my wifi speed is faster when on the 5ghz frequency

Lucky, Verizon's router sucks and you have to use it if you have TV, then connect a good router to it.
