My household makes somewhere around 3k a year and we get by pretty well.

We were just a normal middle class family.

My parents were the ones that kicked ass when they were younger, though. They both came from very poor families; from getting evicted from houses, living in cars. My mom's father ended up being shot by his girlfriend [a different woman than my mom's mom, of course] and was a drunk.

That was a really shitty life, and the fact that they've done so well for themselves over the last 30-40 years speaks volumes.

No, about 3000 pounds. Which equates to around 4.5k dollars.

My dad went from a POW, to a kick ass dad of 3 making over $300k.

Recently got a raise to that :p. He's making more then 2x what he was making at his old job.
