I came into this thread and its just Mexicans throwing burritos at each other.

I'm not sure what's worse, the Mexicans or the fact that they're wasting perfectly good food.

This is highschooler tier kind of logic and reasoning, "Its something odd to me, so I'm just gonna call it weird and stay clear of it". Believe or not, most just don't give a shit, I already said it, but I'll say it again.

Well, deal with it. That's what people think of anime.

I'm not saying that's what I believe, I'm saying that's what most believe.

Please tell me more how people being cunts to the newbies didn't make them want to leave, or how their drama didn't do the same, please, please do.

Holy shit, calm down. You're misinterpreting what I said for the third fucking time.

BEING A CUNT DOES MORE TO PUSH AWAY NEW USERS THAN WEEBERY.

Christ, you're mad.
I'm interpreting it just fine, I'm just annoyed at how dense you about this stupid logic of yours in regards to newbies, but whatever, if you think the several months worth of Noelle/Kiyo/Nuka/Comms/Cis/Verb/etc drama that plagued the site for about half of its lifespan along with how close knit the site is, is less of a deterrent than "weebery" then fine, think what you want.

Hey now, I don't really start anything. I just find this site's drama hilarious and entertaining.
Shhhhh, you know what you did.

True that, T. I'm thinking that changing the rules may be the best option. But if you try to curb all of this toxic speech on the site people will just scream "hugbox" and the conversation will be over.

Sigh.
Yeah that does tend to happen eh?
But then the issue becomes... who exactly is doing the screaming? lol
Likely the people who are against a rule are against it because it affects the directly. If you catch my drift.

You do realize that anime is extremely popular in the West and that it has been for a long time, right?

You do realize that anime is extremely popular, right?

For who?

The only people I "know" who enjoy anime are on this site.

I mean, you're going to need to define popular for me.

iPhones are popular. Star Wars is popular.

Anime is not popular.

Exactly, and them screaming hugbox shouldn't even matter. But whenever that word is brought up, any drive for stricter rules seems to just shrink away.

The angel agreed to trade a set of white wings for the head of another demon. Overjoyed, the demon killed one of his own and plucked the head right off its still-warm body.

The angel then led the demon to heaven, where he underwent centuries of the cruelest tortures imaginable. Finally, the pain was so great that he lost consciousness - at which point his dark wings turned the promised shade of white.

tbh E-femly, we should start to accept that the nature of this site drops us right in the twilight zone of a hug box and the slaughterhouse.

instead of worrying that we ourselves are deterring possible members, we should actively advertise this site and let the stream of newcomers decide for themselves if this is a fun place to be.

This is one of the reasons user created front page content as well as a general sense of background purpose within boards should be encouraged. If the newgoys see we actually make some interesting shit, they'll be inclined to stay.. while getting the scoop on recognizing "pillars" of the community and the forum's general interests

TLDR: ban mongolian cartoons and morph this site into an unholy combination of bladeforums and Stormfront

That isn't contradictory whatsoever.

I showed my friend this website, and the first thing he said to me was "Everyone likes anime..." He hasn't been on this website since his first week here.

Anime is weird to those who don't like anime. Sorry, it's true. The staff being mostly comprised of weebs doesn't help.

It's nowhere near people being cunts to new users, though.
to be honest, i wouldnt want to associate with someone who thinks like that and avoids people simply because they like a certain artistic medium. good riddance.

Can you read? "More important" doesn't imply that they're mutually exclusive.

No I clearly can't read, I didn't even see the second question on the poll and thought the options referred to "What is the role of a moderator?

His eyebrows sparkling, his white beard hangs down to his chest. The thatched mats, spread outside his chise, spread softly, his splendid attos. He polishes, cross-legged, his makiri, with his eyes completely absorbed.

He is Ainu.

The god of Ainu Mosir, Ae-Oine Kamuy, descendant of Okiku-Rumi, He perishes, a living corpse. The summers day, the white sunlight, unabrushed, ends simply through his breath alone.
The former, but the latter is quite important as well. If a moderator can't play nice with the community, then they should opt to post infrequently.

That doesn't make it popular.

Something being popular in circles like our doesn't make it popular.

Atheism is popular in communities like ours. Is it popular?

They're still going to think it's weird. I'm not saying they'll avoid you or something like that.

It's like when I say that I like Pokémon -- no one really cares, but most people think "You're 17, you shouldn't be playing Pokemon. It's weird."
