American Football?
You mean Handegg.
i was thinking about calling it that, but that reminds me of americans who try to use english phrases in casual conversation

like "bloody
or "take the piss"

it's awkward
Bloody feels natural if you don't pronounce it stupid like bongs do.

Or maybe I just converse with too many of them online.
I talk with Brits erryday and have still managed to avoid saying bloody like a tool.
Yeah but did you talk to borderline chavs?
I'm sorry if you have to

The sport itself is probably good, I just think the culture is stupid.

Don't know the rules, objective, how to play or anything of the culture behind it.

Heard it's boring to watch.

As far as my knowledge goes, American Football is rarely ever mentioned around the British Isles. I vaugely remember someone I knew watching a Superbowl once but that's pretty much it.

All I know beyond that is that it's similar to Rugby, except in American Football you have to wear protection for some reason.

Eh, I can enjoy a game, but the more I watch soccer, as I said, the more I just feel alienated for it.

I don't want the game to stop every 5 seconds for a commercial break. I think I just like consistent free flowing sports like that, hockey, basketball, etc.

Games like football and baseball stop every time and it's annoying.

They wear padding and stuff in American Football because they are brutal in that game, like you wouldn't be able to survive without it

The angel agreed to trade a set of white wings for the head of another demon. Overjoyed, the demon killed one of his own and plucked the head right off its still-warm body.

The angel then led the demon to heaven, where he underwent centuries of the cruelest tortures imaginable. Finally, the pain was so great that he lost consciousness - at which point his dark wings turned the promised shade of white.

It's pretty great if you're a fan of Rugby here because they don't show tend to show ads throughout the entire game

Honestly it's probably because of the padding that American Football is even more brutal than Rugby is

But naw, American Football is pretty rough

In Rugby they actually tackle like you should. So you don't, ya know, break your neck.

In American Football they dive shoulder/head first off their feet like idiots because once you put the padding on, they're in the mindset to hit harder.

One isn't any more manly than the other. I see Rugby as the more technical of the two and great examples of how tackling SHOULD be in American Football.

Well, I've never watched a game of American Football so I'm in no position to argue which is 'better' but you seem to know a bit about both so I'll take your word for it.

Bunch of pansies in armour.
Don't think for a second that those guys don't hit each other way fucking harder than any rugby player could stand.

I don't think it would be physically possible to survive a game without some sort of padding with the way these guys move now.

I'm no handegg fan, but the players are fucking steamrollers.
It's because they wear pads too that it encourages them to hit harder. I remember people saying that if you ever saw a pro football game from on the sidelines, you'd never want your kids to play the sport.

It's seriously dangerous. They get paid so much because they take 10 years off their life, and become brain dead 10 years after retiring.

I do wish they'd look at Rugby for an example of how to tackle though. Because you see many broken tackles because people just dive at players instead of trying to actually tackle.
It is exceedingly dangerous. Just two years ago a kid broke his neck during an exhibition game at the local high school stadium. A few years before that, half a damn team nearly got heat stroke during another exhibition game (a Florida team came to our stadium in Georgia to play our best team, weird that they weren't prepared for that kind of heat but it's still fucked). Concussions are very common even in middle school leagues and most coaching staffs under the college level are really bad at teaching proper technique so everyone's fundamentals are out of wack and kids get injured more often as a result
