I think people only think he's good now because he changed his behavior and isn't pissing in buckets and speeding while on drugs anymore. Like, he shouldn't have been doing that in the first place. Just because he isn't doing that stuff anymore doesn't mean that he deserves praise.

As for this music he's been producing lately, it's pretty standard pop. Nothing new or interesting.
It's better than the shit he was producing in his earlier years, but it still doesn't mean that he's good.

I would not put those two on the same level since I enjoy Pearl Jam way more. Which is kinda irrelevant considering I have had over 10 album releases just this year from bands I love. I don't just enjoy a certain decade of music and think all popular music is trash. Not saying you think that. Just saying.
