We knew the world would not be the same.
A few people laughed, a few people cried, most people were silent.
I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad-Gita.
Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty
and to impress him takes on his multi-armed form and says,
"Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.."
I suppose we all thought that one way or another.
shave the fucking hair off your chest and legs at least christ
Sorry, I don't conform to your gender norms :)
shoot yourself in the face please
Nigga what

Weren't you a girl before? I don't think you're in a position to hate on Loaf for wearing a dress

Spoiler
just because I was born a certain way that doesn't mean I intentionally go out of my way to dress and look like a freak, I do actually try to be a normal human being you know
You and Loaf are two sides of the same coin.
disagree

having a hormonal neurological condition isn't the same as playing dress up and making a political statement about your identity with it
What is that condition? I'd say Loaf isn't in a normal condition either, but unless we specify, throwing around big words won't answer anything.
gender dysphoria

The way I see it, you want to be male, so you changed your gender. Loaf wants to be female, so he took the aspects he likes about females and made it his own thing. Basically you changed because you want to fit a role, and he just put on a dress while still acknowledging that he's a male.

You changed because you were uncomfortable, he didn't because he's comfortable.
"Sorry, I don't conform to your gender norms" isn't the same as "I want to be female"

not how it works lmao

you either "want" to be masculine or feminine, and gender dysphoria is when you're messed up and want the opposite of what you were born as

the want is the gender, the body itself is the sex
You can be a feminine man, or a masculine woman.
this is true, but it's also not the same thing as having a brain wired male in a female body and vise versa
it's effectively a neurological intersex condition, and not a fun one to have at that

the latter is just fucking with gender norms for the sake of fucking with gender norms or cross dressing because it gives you a boner

Alright, fine, whatever, just explain me this one thing. How's a male brain different than a female one? What's so male about your brain that you think you were born in the wrong body? Is it aggressiveness, the urge to fuck things with a penis, violence- what?

Sexual metamorphism and hormones.

It's not that simple really. I grew up being a pretty rough and tumble tomboy and I was relatively happy until I hit puberty and everything flipped on its head. I didn't understand why at the time but the hormonal spike during puberty made me distressed to the point where I turned suicidal because my body became alien and foreign, and all the changes that were happening felt wrong. As time went on it got worse and the depression got severe enough that I sought help, and I was diagnosed with Gender Identity Disorder as it used to be called.

Hormone replacement therapy straightened me out.

there are thousands of subtle differences every day - even just how you're perceived

in any situation you get yourself into, you would be happier or better at it in the opposite sex body

gender is binary IMO, there's 1 and 2 and a spectrum between

Kinda like Class said there's hundreds of little subtle things, I more or less summarized to simplify it as much as possible. On the surface I was already pretty stereotypical masculine though closeted about it, albeit poorly. A lot of it is stuff I really don't know how to explain other than "this is wrong, I don't know why everything feels wrong" and not being able to picture myself growing up to be a woman and wishing I could cease from existing completely because it was too much to handle on top of normal teenage angst. It was like I was constantly at odds with myself.

Growing up with conservative parents I had buried a lot of it down and it took several years to learn to not be ashamed of myself for it. After tearing those walls down and just allowing myself to think about what I wanted and needed, I realized a lot of things, but mostly that I could actually imagine myself growing old and being happy if I had been born male instead. That if I had grown up that way my body wouldn't feel alien and I wouldn't feel like I was robbed of the childhood I should've had. Going on hormones reinforced that because for the first time in my life I started feeling normal. It sounds stereotypical but it was like the clouds parted and two tons was taken off my back. Also keep in mind that once I had started hormones I had already been kicked out and was on my way to losing everything I previously cared about and becoming homeless on top of all that. Despite that I managed to get through it, when I was previously a complete mess who would've never been able to gather the mental fortitude to get through it.

People don't realize how much hormones influence your brain. A slight fuck up in the balance of everything and things go haywire.

Nah, I'm pretty sure they do realize. We all have hormones, and some days we're more emotional or sensitive than others. I attribute those feelings to hormones, I imagine other people do too

Female puberty?

Estrogen my dude, trust me if you had your testosterone cut off and got pumped full of estrogen you'd probably become depressed because you're not wired to be that way. Just ask Jive, he's fucked with hormones a lot when he's roiding it, he knows the effects of that kinda stuff. For example if you take too much testosterone, you start having aggression problems. If you take even more testosterone and you surpass what your body can handle, your system converts some of it into estrogen and become an emotional and unstable mess on top of the aggression.

Hormones. They have more influence than you think. An XY baby can be born with a female typical body if the testosterone is cut off. You can also get XX babies born with a typically male body with the presence of too much testosterone. Neurologically it's the same.

Do you think preconceptions of male and female identity influenced your choice to transition?

If it did it wasn't a deciding factor, but I'm sure it had some influence. Sure I like stereotypically masculine stuff but that's not anywhere near the full picture.

Still don’t understand why gender is broken up into mental and physical aspects

There is nothing inherently wrong with being a feminine man or a masculine woman, but they are still male and female. There's more to it than just stereotypical gender roles and that's one of the key things that always goes over people's heads.

Biology doesn't care about sexism.

Biology doesn't care about sexism.

Biology doesn’t but society does

Physically we have male and female. That makes sense

But what does having a male or female brain mean? You’ve been very vague on actually defining what the difference is between a male and female mentally. Most of what you’ve been saying is based on your feelings and fixed by pursuing treatments that makes you feel “normal”

I don’t understand why you say that masculine females and feminine males exist yet you transitioned because you didn’t feel comfortable being masculine as a female

And if you say hormones, what’s wrong with being a female with high tes or vice versa. Seems like there’s more if you’re going to decide to label yourself a different gender than the one you were born as

Personally I think gender should be a strictly physical label. Assigning personality traits and behavior to gender is such a backwards practice and only confuses people. In society, people should be male and female just like how people are short and tall without it anything about behavior.
