A discussion I recently had with one of my friends

I've always pictured darkness before the Big Bang but she always saw a blank white

Now that I think about it, it makes perfect sense

Darkness seems like nothing was there and the Big Bang just randomly happened but a white backdrop seems more intelligent, like a canvas to be painted 

Anyways, it was a nice perspective change

Before the Big Bang there would be nothing. Like literally nothing.

When the supposed heat death of our universe occurs it would possibly be similar to what it was like before the Big Bang - assuming the universe goes through an infinite cycle of heat death and then re-birthing itself through quantum tunneling.

White is a more of a beginning thing than black is

I don't imagine anything before the big bang, because matter and energy as we know it did not exist before the big bang, nor did time. It's like asking what someone looked like before they were born.

It's been twisting my mind ever since she told me about it

Supposedly the black is a thing. True nothing would either be a blacker black or less than black.

If string theory is correct, then you would see other universes as the Big Bang was the product of two universes colliding or one collapsing. We don't really know so there's no point in asking.

How can you ask what you see when we don't even know what happened? If we assume it was nothingness then maybe black, but we can just make that assumption because we could be wrong.
