Just behave like a normal member of the community in regards to discussion in threads and so on. Being a mod is not about having a title or seeing yourself above the rest of the forum. You're now responsible for keeping the place clean and attractive for everyone, remember that. It's work.
Be as objective as possible, and take responsibility for any action you do have to take. I don't want to be hearing "Well everyone else thought you should be banned" or "Cheat told me to!"

If somebody's giving a really hard time, you take a perverbial shotgun, drag the user out back, and old yeller them, quick, simple, no more bullshit.

No exceptions and no favoritism. If a thread needs locking, you shut the damn thing down without a delay. If a user needs to be put down, you do so without waiting around for them to cause more damage.

Go about your business like you normally would. You're just a dude here with access to more buttons to push than the rest.

It's your call on everything. Don't wait around for a consensus from the site, or any higher ups. You get there, look things over, and then make your call on who gets what.

I believe mods should allow some degree of rough housing, and let there be a definite line to have to cross for a member to be banned. Eliminating bias from management and enforcing rules as objectivity as possible.

A mod shouldn't ban someone simply because they are a certain group of people are annoyed with them.

But when you allow rough housing, the supposed line is an absolute blur. You'll have instances where the majority thinks it doesn't cross the line, but the moderators do. When you allow certain degrees of something and not others, it's kinda hard to be consistent.

If I see something I believe is crossing the line or someone tells me that someone is crossing the line I'll give that person 1 verbal warning that they've crossed the line and need to stop it. If they continue further persecutions will take place.

The question wasn't what to do should someone cross the line, it's how to define the line itself.
