Everyone might talk about shitty drivers, but that keeps you alert. You're suppose to be fucking paying attention to the road and hazards while driving at all times.

Also, in case you didn't know, vehicles are becoming increasingly more safe. I've responded to car accidents where I expect serious injuries because the cars look so bad and totaled, but all we end up getting is someone with some minor neck and shoulder pain from the seatbelt and a spranged wrist. Your survivability is going up with the improvement of cars, so your chances are STILL lower than you think. So no, you can fuck off with your irrational fear.

Well, driving on the highway. I'm 23 and I've developed this fear of doing it. I have before and can when someone else is in the car, but by myself I can't. I know why too. 16 years ago my mom was hit and almost killed by a drunk driver on the highway. It really limits my life.

I'm afraid of drivers in front of me randomly slamming the brakes mostly. And if I'm on a two lane road, I'm afraid the people coming from the left side will drift over into my lane and collide or run me off the road.
