Who actually feels like the universe is small? I don't
I was thinking about this earlier. Usually the size of the universe is supposed to overwhelm you, but I think I'm starting to find it comforting. Like, we exist, and all the rest of the universe does too. Conscious or unconscious, it's our 'little' Club Of Things That Exist. So, even if our planet was blinked out- our galaxy even- there would still be lots of existence left. There would still be something doing something. And that's comforting, and somehow... not impersonal. I guess it's like feeling at one with the universe.

It's going to look small in some contexts unless there was literally an infinite array of celestial bodies for us to not be able to quantify. I say celestial bodies specifically here because I know fuck all about the actual amount of energy and matter in existence. Quantum background fuzz and relativity make it hard for me to just think that there is X amount of energy and X amount of matter in existence.
