Because lifting things is fun apparently. There's a sense of satisfaction that can come with looking at an object and knowing that you're capable of moving it.

And the feeling of testing yourself to see just how far you can push that ability.

Course I don't bench stuff. But, that's how I like to view heavy objects anyway.

I don't normally use the bench press for my workouts since I prefer dumbbells, but I flat press 80 lbs. and incline/decline 70 lbs.

but seriously who still cares about how much others can bench? talk to me when you can squat 225 lbs. with nearly perfect form 8)

Never have gone above 225. I got two reps with that on a good day. Now that I'm lifting again I can hopefully break that record. But I don't really flat bench anyway. I do decline and incline.
