I was confused, because I did notice that you did not say "who" in the title, but "what". However, in the post body, you posted a who: Cheat. So I was like, okay, he's talking about people. I realized you said "the Cheat mod" instead of just "Cheat", too, which I thought was merely an attempt at being punny.

The idea that the thread was about moderators was thusly reinforced by the number of people who indeed posted moderator's names. And then you were like, "No guys, I'm talking about game mods."

Mods can add things that the developers wouldn't have had time to, or simply wouldn't have thought of.
You can also do shit like make the graphics better, add more animations into the game as well as more story content.
IMO, you're having a better experience than the developers intended. I haven't even mentioned total conversion mods, which don't affect the vanilla game at all but act like a completely separate game.

I don't like mods, at all. I don't care if you think it's "lore friendly", I don't care if you think the game is "improved". To me, the fact that the game improves upon being modded is all the more reason to play the game vanilla (or not play the game at all, because any game that gets better upon getting modified is probably a shitty game to begin with).

To me, there's no such thing as a "lore-friendly mod". They all break the lore. Even the graphics-enhancing ones. In the game's universe, the unmodded vanilla graphics--That's how the universe in that game is. Changing that is changing the fabric of that universe, which to me, is bad. And I won't do it.

Don't get me started on story content. Fuck that bullshit. I don't want to interact in some shitty fan fiction. I only care about what the developers slaved over, not what some idiot sitting in his room designed because he thought it was cute or funny.

Don't worry, you got it right. I was trying to be punny, but I also felt like there should've been some discretion.

This caused more outcomes, so I'm glad. Objectively, I wasn't being punny, but a human mind would connect the knowledge and other things to think that I was trying to be punny.

Don't worry, I understand what you're saying. The game in its pure form is best, and I always play a game through vanilla before I install any mods. But when I have it completed, why not add more? Whether I want to have it so my character can wear a cape, or simply fix a shortcoming of the game (like how the arena has fuck all spectators in oblivion), what is the harm? I don't care about "lore". Especially when it does comply with the lore of the universe, just not the lore of the standalone game.

I'm not saying mods don't add anything. In fact, they add a considerable amount of enjoyment. But when you're first experiencing a game, I always think it's better to focus on actually playing through it and keeping focused on the game itself instead of installing mods. I'm arguing for mods here, what the hell are you on?
