Take those apps with a grain of salt and understand that not everyone is using them.

Are you looking for just a hookup? If not then just uninstall them, that's all they're good for. I thought about using them once, then I remembered how I used legitimate dating services online in the past, and they were trash. If legitimate services are a failure, what would make something like Tindr/Grindr any better?
