I've always assumed that whenever people here talk like they're alt-right they were just doing it ironically.

After seeing Second Class given a run-around for saying super inoffensive things about how we ought to fight to guarantee equal rights between genders, though, I've started to wonder.

Was this community always a bulwark of regressives, or am I just only now waking up to it?

You have it wrong OP. Most of the people on here aren't trying to be conservative or liberal. Most people will post whatever will get the best reaction out of a group of people. The politically right have been so vehemently attacked in the last decade they've become completely deafened to it. Meanwhile, you whisper "Fedora" next to an E-Atheist and they'll sperg the fuck out, or "Faggot" on Tumblr. As if the words magically passed through the lips like an act of God.

It's all memes man. I personally lean to the right on economic issues but I believe everyone should have equal rights/opportunities/etc.

I don't believe in hand holding or coddling, which is why I appear racist and/or sexist at times. I understand the need for programs like food stamps and welfare but I don't agree with how they're implemented.

Welfare is the reason black people can never get ahead, why work when you can make more money by doing nothing?
