It's a testament to the endurance of life, to the will of something to continue existing, the struggle for something to matter when nothing can.

This is where I disagree.

Pain is something to be overcome. We're not supposed to like or enjoy it--its very persistence as a biological sensation is a blight on our existence. You can argue all you want that pain is good on a metaphysical level, because it builds character and whatnot, but that right there is what I take umbrage with.

To acquire wisdom, you must suffer. Through our suffering, we attain knowledge of how to improve the human condition. That's how the universe functions, and that's how it has functioned since abiogenesis.

I simply reject this model of reality. I find it insidious, invidious, pernicious, precarious--any number of synonyms. The fact is, the very notion that you must suffer to achieve life experience is a very highly flawed design. Not flawed in a beautiful way--but flawed in a way that says, "This system is dysfunctional, so we must shut it down."

Like you, I ascribe value to things like art that often depict suffering--or were produced as a result of suffering--and I can appreciate it and enjoy it--but not in the same way that I enjoy eating a cupcake or something. I enjoy this type of art because I can empathize with it. I can relate to it.

That doesn't mean I think suffering is good--suffering is bad. Bad bad bad. This type of art isn't meant to be a celebration of suffering--and if there's any art out there that expresses any level of celebration towards suffering, I'd consider that bad art. It has no value.

I'm rambling. I can tell where not going to see eye to eye and probably never will, but really, I don't want you to think of me as "inhuman" because of my beliefs. My beliefs come from a standpoint of wanting to transcend humanity, almost in a Buddhist-type way. I don't think I'm inhuman at all.

Basically, I don't feel that the utility of suffering is of universal, objective utility.

Suffering exists to be quashed, and my solution would do just that. I see no point in perpetuating it for the sake of... some nebulous ideal of beauty or wisdom. That sounds like psychological attachment bibble-babble to me.

The reason I was telling him not to post the PMs was because I specifically wanted him to (and I knew he would), so that he'd get himself banned, like the cheap, easily-manipulable marionette dumbass little faggot bitch that he is.

Posting PMs is against the rules regardless of the sender's personal feelings about it--it's a matter of quashing drama, as Psy put it; not necessarily to protect the user's rights.

Kupo has, to my knowledge, a fully functioning frontal lobe and is capable of making judgements. If he, under his own volition, chose to break a rule then it's his fault. You do not, contrary to popular belief, have to actually commit suicide every time someone over the Internet says, "kill yourself." Whatever his reasons for breaking the rules, whether it be for an intentional blacklist or out of a petty sense of venom toward Verbatim, he broke them with full understanding of the rules and the appropriate response to them. Open and shut case.
