there are DOZENS of us

people are obviously gonna treat this guy and stories like this as something to gawk, laugh at, then summarily dismiss and move on from, but i choose to look at this sort of thing as a beacon of hope for rationality in the world

especially when this is taking place in fucking INDIA of all places

who knows, maybe 1 in 1000 people will have some sort of intellectual "awakening" from things like this

his parents seem to have a pretty based attitude about it, too, judging from their quotes in the article

This is not the greatest sig in the world, no. This is just a tribute.
Can't say I blame the guy. I wouldn't want to be born in India either.

Hey.
I came here from b.net after a few Floods invited me. None of them post on either b.net nor here anymore, which is sad. I was still active on b.net until for some bizarre reason, b.net admins locked out people who have not played Destiny. Even if you wanted to post on the offtopic section. After that, I fully moved here and have not returned to b.net since.
Please come play Halo with me.
You can't consent to everything that happens in your life. Sadly.

Things are even more complicated for the unborn since they cannot consent. Its even harder to consent to your own conception.

Potential slippery slope. Giving rights to the unborn. Potentially banning abortions because of it.
Case will definitely get dismissed or ruled in his favour and he will be executed - releasing him from the life he did not consent to.

I can't see this going anywhere. Wrongful birth / life cases are nothing new and some of them have been accepted in the past, but they all came from people who were born despite their parents being aware of a serious defect. I don't think I've ever heard of a case where a wrongful birth claim was brought just on the basis of being born (healthy).
