His eyebrows sparkling, his white beard hangs down to his chest. The thatched mats, spread outside his chise, spread softly, his splendid attos. He polishes, cross-legged, his makiri, with his eyes completely absorbed.

He is Ainu.

The god of Ainu Mosir, Ae-Oine Kamuy, descendant of Okiku-Rumi, He perishes, a living corpse. The summers day, the white sunlight, unabrushed, ends simply through his breath alone.
speaking of which, my MAL's average rating actually increased by 0.01 with my last update

the one true God is Doctor Doom and we should all be worshiping him.
Maybe reconsider Gundam Wing on the grounds that it was one of the pioneers of anime in the west.

not a bad idea, since i'm planning on capping it off by rewatching EVA as well for similar reasons

all right, time to shovel off the last few scraps of the '95 plate

as usual, i don't have a lot to say about any of this stuff, because it's mostly just random garbage that nobody else likes either, yet i'm still obligated to watch in order for me to be able to say "i've seen every anime ever made"

Nurse Angel Ririka SOS (Studio Gallop, 1995, two episodes) I wish I had more to say about these dumb mahou shoujo shows, but they just never offer me very much. 4/10

Catnapped! (Studio Hibari, 1995, completed) This is one of the most obnoxious things I've ever seen, but I'd be lying if I didn't at least somewhat appreciate the imaginative visuals to SOME degree. 2/10

Neighborhood Story (Toei, 1995, one episode) More of the same bullshit, but credit where credit's due to the art style, which is fairly unique by anime standards. You can still tell it was made in Japan, but it's kind of striking all the same. 3/10

Galaxy Fraulein Yuna (J.C.Staff, 1995, one episode) I am now watching OVAs that were released and made to be watched exclusively on old PC-ROM games that nobody played in the mid-90s. I have officially lost control of my life. 2/10

Mahou Shoujo Pretty Sammy (AIC, 1995, one episode) This one's kinda interesting. It's an OVA that "recasts" characters from the Tenchi Muyo! series, giving them entirely different roles in a totally disconnected(?) show. Almost as if they weren't just cartoons, but real people playing characters. I've never seen anything like that before. Points for originality, I suppose. 3/10

Battle Skipper (Artmic, 1995, one episode) The only thing I'm skipping here is the rest of this OVA. 1/10

Hyper Doll (Triangle Staff, 1995, one episode) 1/10

Sorcerer Hunters (Xebec, 1995, one episode) 1/10

Kouryuu no Mimi: Mina no Shou (Unknown studio, 1995, one episode) 1/10

Gotou ni Naritai. (Unknown studio, 1995, completed) 4/10

the last things i have to watch now from this year:

Virtua Fighter. I'm saving this one for last, because not only is it based on one of my all-time favorite fighting game franchises, it was also released on my birthday. And it doesn't even look half-bad, honestly. So hopefully, by watching this one last, I'll have ended 1995 on a positive note.

Red Hawk - Weapon Of Death. This is a movie, and it looks very very bad, so I've been putting it off for a long time.

Neon Genesis Evangelion + Death & Rebirth + End of Evangelion. Given that many people still regard Eva as one of the most important shows ever, if not the best ever created, I'm not opposed to giving it another chance. I didn't watch either of the two films last time, because I simply didn't care to, but I'll go ahead and watch them too. I definitely don't expect to completely turn around on this show, having disliked it initially, but it certainly wouldn't hurt to get to the bottom of why people seem to like it so much.

And then Majackou, Gunsmith Cats, The Silent Service, Gakkou no Yuurei, and Shin Kaitei Gunkan.

Then I move on to 1996.

i don't need to seek attention on sep7agon.net, i'm pretty good on that front

that said, all human activity could be reduced to attention seeking

it's practically what we're on the planet for

Well nevermind then, if you're happy then it's less pointless than I anticipated.

I think this is the fastest I've ever been hooked into an anime. It usually takes me like 5 episodes to really properly get into something but I was hooked from episode 1. I love stories with characters that are posessed by a demon of some kind, it's usually the kind of thing I daydream/fantasize about when I'm thinking up my own characters and stuff.  Everything about it just seems so damn stylish. I'm kind of getting a Dante/Vergil vibe from Akira and his brother too.

Neon Genesis Evangelion (Gainax, 1995, completed) Just changing my score. Originally, I gave it a 3/10, which is still how I feel about it on the absolute worst of days. The new score is what I'd give it on the absolute best of days. I'd elaborate more, but I'm going to withhold my updated thoughts for when I watch the two movies, Death & Rebirth and End of Evangelion. As I explained in my "year-end" list, however, my opinion of the show has substantially increased and I have a lot more respect for it now. It's still not going in my favorites, or anything, but I've come to appreciate a lot of what the show is going for, and I can't wait to extrapolate further on this. I just wanna get the complete story before doing so. 6/10

Virtua Fighter (Tokyo Movie Shinsha, 1995, five episodes) For a show based on a fighting game franchise that I love, which was also released on the exact date of my birth, yet is also  geared towards children, this could've been a lot worse. I'm biased in favor of the characters, having already gotten to know them through playing hours and hours of Virtua Fighter 2, 4, and 5 back in the day. But with that said, the show is about as good as you'd ultimately expect it to be. Personally, I'm just kinda glad that it exists. 4/10

Red Hawk - Weapon of Death (Unknown studio, 1995, completed) A shameful, ugly, and embarrassing DBZ ripoff. But apparently, under the definition of anime that I've been using, this isn't actually an anime at all. It was made in South Korea. It's still listed on MAL, though, so fuck it, I guess that's my new definition and qualifier for "anime" now. And no, even then, Avatar: The Last Airbender is still not listed. Neither is RWBY. Neither is Jaden Smith's anime. So I'm not sure how they justify having Red Hawk on the website, but whatever. It was a stupid-ass movie, that's all I know. 2/10

Majackou (OLM, 1995, one episode) Dumb kids' show. 3/10

Gunsmith Cats (OLM, 1995, one episode) Dumb perverts' show. 2/10

The Silent Service (Unknown studio, 1995, two episodes) A boring and uninspired military drama type thing that tries to make a few poignant statements about international conflict, but falls short in too many ways to count. If the show had any characters, it might've been slightly more compelling. 3/10

Gakkou no Yuurei (Unknown studio, 1995, two episodes) I guess this is my first horror anime? But the horror is so fucking tame, I can't even tell if it's trying to be genuinely scary. This is something I might've skipped out on if I knew more about it, but I was suckered in by this really cool-looking poster. To be fair, my principle for watching horror movies has always been, "Don't watch it to be scared. Watch it as you would anything else and rate it accordingly." Basically, if the show doesn't scare you, is it still an interesting story? The answer in this case is no, I'm afraid. 3/10

Shin Kaitei Gunkan (Unknown studio, 1995, one episode) 3/10

All right, now I can officially move on to 1996 (along with the other stuff, like Tecxnolyze).

Already posted, but here's my Top 10 of 1995 in case anyone missed it. I still haven't watched every little thing from this year, but I think I've watched a pretty good amount.

Don't let weebs fool you. There literally is no such thing as horror anime. Closest you're going to get is stuff like Berserk, Devilman, and Eva which have some kinda-horror elements but are not actual horror, especially considering just how common certain elements are in anime.

The shit that gets considered Horror by your typical weeb is shit like Mirrai Nikki which are 999,999.9 times out of one million just Micheal Bay-tier action anime with alot of blood.

I enjoyed Gargantia quite a bit too. Not sure if Verb will appriciate the fan service in some sections, buts its still an interesting story with a couple of...well twists...cause theyre just weird.

But still, great anime and easily accessible if you have netflix.
