People call me mentally retarded, and it hurts my feelings. Does this mean that I can make it illegal to call someone mentally retarded?

A mod has done this many times to me. Why aren't my feelings considered? Is it because of the sensitive subject of a transexual individual being involved? Are the mods not sure how to handle the unkown, and thus compensating for it with special treatment? Please explain.
