There used to be so many tornados where I live that I was scared of clouds for a while. There haven't been as many the last few years. Now I love storms.

I was in a tornado back in 2011. My high school was on an airfield, which was a perfect location for one to occur. Several planes were not anchored, and ended up flipping in the process.

The school was mostly untouched since most buildings in Florida are built to resist category 2-3 hurricanes without issue.

I disagree. The factors that combine to form a lurching wind funnel of death make it even cooler. Natural disasters are just so dramatic that it makes the science behind them cool by default.
