Give me a fucking break you tard.

Kinda puts things in perspective if I think about ants a little bit. If you're able to lift your own weight, then technically speaking you're able to lift 1x your own weight. Ants are well known for being capable of lifting 10x their own body weight. Hard to imagine myself lifting 10x my own weight. I don't think the world's strongest human was even able to lift 10x his own weight. It gives me a bit of appreciation for the the way things naturally engineer themselves to a degree. You know, there you are, a big walking collection of "bits," all working together to make one thing we call a human being.Whatever you expose that tangle of parts to, it adapts, slowly. Environment shapes you, and you shape your environment. And your bits and pieces respond, growing weaker or stronger. Funny.
Oh, nice dude! That's a big accomplishment-*Everybody in this thread is arguing about whether or not lifting is useful*Will people ever just shut the fuck up and let others enjoy things? Jesus Christ. Guy makes good progress on a lift, like four guys hijack the thread and bitch about "Muh practical applications." It's lifting, you do it to get stronger, clear your head, and feel confident. Stop whining.

When will you ever need to bench press outside of bench pressing? NeverPlus, you get chest strength from pushups and other more useful exercises anyway

Bench Pressing is one of the most effective muscle-building exercises for your front delts and chest, and bodyweight push-ups will never be as efficient. Unless you put plates on your back, you'll really never be able to progressively overload on your chest to any serious degree.
muscle building, not muscle strength. A lot of bulk and aesthetics, not dense, practical muscle.

That was hysterical, bravo.
Heavy weights with few reps adds bulk. Higher reps with heavy weights leans out muscle.

Many light reps increases mass but doesn't result in much higher strength (hence why pushups are a very poor strength workout).
muh confidence is based on how striated muh muscles are

Higher reps with heavy weights leans out muscle. All bench pressing really does is "puff" out your muscles. When are you practically EVER going to need to bench press? Never. Exercising without weights gives you more compact, dense muscle that can be used more practically in an every day setting. This is a fact.

I used to lift, but college doesn't lend me enough free time anymore.I only did it to prove the point that lifting is pointless anyway. That is, if you're not interested in the way society thinks you should look. Which, you shouldn't be.
