Most users seem to use this as an escape from their everyday lives, which they all have problems with. As a result, not many users come for serious discussion or debate, but instead just for silly comments that they find fun to make and count as enjoyable interactions with other members.

I've seen plenty of people complain about the shitposting, but not many seem to create topics for discussion like what they want to see more of on the forum. Why not try that?

They want better discussion, but can't think of stuff to discuss.
It's not bad, t's just wanting a solution but not knowing how to get it themselves.

Everybody has some idea of what they want, it might be vague and general, but with the right discussion you can figure out what everybody really wants while having a not shitposting discussion to start it all off.

So by shitposting you are fighting fire with fire? Genius!
