As for playing chords and strumming, it'll take a while to get the hang of all of it and your fingers will hurt like shit. But they'll adjust.My advice on strumming is don't be so stuck on which pattern you strum. Learn how long you need to play a chord, then simply make your strums fill that time. It got rid of this huge mental block I had on strumming.
