The unnatural bend in her neck, the jagged shadow it cast.
Her hands were so cold, it startled me at first.
Pierced my mind like a knife.

A waking dream, or is it a nightmare?

Who's voice do I hear?

In my head, next to mine?

Her last words haunt me. They will forever. We were only 15, and we knew we had a sophisticated love beyond our years. That fateful day she climbed the ladder. Every moment burned into my mind's eye. She walked across her roof.  More than a heart can bear. She leaped and missed the pool. Her last words to me were

Hey y'all watch this!

There was a loud smack.


She started to cry.

We laughed and laughed.

She was okay

I just could not be associated with her after that... Only nerds miss the pool.

I've been having... These weird thoughts lately.

Like, is any of this for real?
