Ive always been a bit redundant on using girls as my avatars but alas i now do mix some in.

Yeah, I'm the same. Same goes for games that give me the option of playing as a lady, I still pick male.

Even for games I usually play a attractive female if given the option. (unless yuri isn't allowed, ala Fire Emblem. Not into romancing dudes).

Not that complicated really. I find women attractive = prefer to look at women = choose female characters. Always been comfortable with my own manliness so I've never had a complex over that type of stuff. Then again I'm not particularly repressed/puritanical when it comes to sexuality either.
