Who are your personas, and who/what do you emulate in them? What are their dispositions?

I'm a big fan of taking characters from things I've watched or sentiments I've held and making them into a front I can use around people (because I love messing with people).

Currently rolling with a persona IRL named Sai, quiet and private (though in class I'm coming off as a know-it-all).
Utilizing diction for short association seriously teaches you something about how you use words and how varying degrees of relation in any social situation depend on what you say and how you say it.

Also, the person you imagine projecting is much different than the person actually projected. They're like the loose ends of a thread your're spinning, and you're constantly trying to shear fraying strings.

What I'm trying to say here is changing my methods of association is revealing a lot about how I influence interaction.
I also think acting is fun, so...

Do you guys have personas? Any interesting revelations?

Unconsciously, my personality varies depending on the person/people I'm with. But that kinda goes for everyone.

I suppose, though, "Verbatim" is almost a caricature of myself. I don't think of myself as one, but what do you think of when you hear my name? Probably some exaggeratedly negative misrepresentation of who I really am, based both on word of mouth and memories of having interacted with me. That right there is "Verbatim" as... a character. This really negative "edgy" version of myself.

I don't think of myself as "edgy"--I am negative, but the level of negativity that people associate with me is sort of amusingly off the charts sometimes. I could write a whole essay on whatever this phenomenon is.

SC is very close to how I act IRL, but obviously there's a bit of characterization involved. Other than that, I don't really do what you're talking about.

Most people don't really compartmentalize their "personas" to the point that they give them names and stuff. That reminds me of DID.

To clarify, everyone has personas they put on for others if they're social between multiple people of varying association. You act differently around your family and friends respectively, for example. You might have a different disposition, use different language, etc.

I've only named these different modes of association and essentially role play with them. You could say I'm doing something like that with this account, and once I get bored of emulating Dirk I might move on to someone else and adopt a new text shade (though I love orange).

I've always been just me. Molded by the world like clay into different forms. No so easily now as I once was, but there's still plenty of room to change.

As for what's inside my head, I may think in the context of many different personae (that's a strange plural), either to refine them for use in maybe a story or even a certain situations, to learn something from doing so, or maybe just for entertainment purposes, but I never associate them with myself really.

Regarding this. I may alter the way I present myself according to who I'm interacting with, but my underlying personality is always still the same. The fundamentals of my ego don't change and if I ever acted like they do then I'm putting on a front.

In this case, the dissociation is voluntary, like an actor playing another role in a movie. Could it then be categorized as a disorder?

I act differently in different environments, but I'd say my personality is still the same. I just show different aspects of it to different people.

I do occasionally role play online, but that's not part of me, just fun and games.
