tbh famalam, the problem with africa isn't so much warlords as it is western charity and aid completely destroying any local economy or grassroots production that Africa could have,

I remember in business school studying a start up out of england going to Africa to make and sell bikes made out of bamboo. It was genius. The bikes cost something like $5 to make. It all fell apart because of the people not allowing Africans to use the design. They cited a bunch of reasons. At the end of the day they wanted full control. Thry showed up as not for profit crusaders. They left as bad as any drug company hiking prices.

What went wrong? They didn't trust the locals. The changes were in line with what was actually needed. Not what was thought up of before the kids left London.

People need to leave Africa alone and let them develop. They're as smart as anyone. Treating them like they're the retarded kids of the world and handing them shit on our terms holds everyone back.

Will a shit ton of people die? Unfortunately yes. But they have to develop on their own. It has to be internal or all we create is a welfare continent. It's like the Prime Directive from Star Trek. We get it so well in fiction but not so well in actual practice.

My more enthusiastic liberals like to think everyone is equal. But then they say we have to send packages to some areas because they need it. Africa would come through with their identity intact if western liberals didn't insist on treating them like retarded kids that needed help.

You clearly didn't see the video I posted about a month ago on "African Science" where college students tried to argue that you can harness the power of lightning to strike down enemies and saying otherwise is "Racist western education".

I hate to sound authoritarian, but the ignorant and foolish need a good dose of Imperialist Parenting.

I posted in that thread. Europe went through that phase. It was called the enlightenment. Remember that questioning whether the Earth was the center of the cosmos was at one time deemed heresy. Punishable by death.

Africa has to go through its enlightenment. With its unique identity. Is modernity more important than identity? Should everyone be European with different levels of pigmentation? 

Whatever the reasons, be they extrinsic or intrinsic, Africa has been held back. They need to learn to advance with their own unique identity. Or all we have done is perpetuate another form of colonialism. 

Africa is a cursed land

Cursed with some of the best natural resources that the world has to offer.

Oil, Gold, Diamonds. All in huge quantities and apart from South Africa and Conflict Diamonds, barely exploited at all.

And this is ignoring "lesser" ores like Copper, REM's and Iron.
