The reason I pay for Spotify is because I don't want ads when I listen to music and I'm also supporting them but youtube doesn't give me the damn option to anyways. If they had an ad free subscription experience I'd pay for that.

Getting a webpage is exactly the same thing as ordering food except that the chef gets paid if you eat the side of shit (the ad) that comes with the entire entree (the rest of the webpage) that you didn't ask for in the first place. You should not feel bad for not wanting to eat shit you didn't order.

I could just mute the computer, walk away for 30 seconds, then come back once the youtube video started and I still wouldn't have seen the ad. They still get their money and I didn't see the ad.Win win.
