The DOW is a good measure of investor confidence. If they feel the future is bright, then you see more trading. Today's drop has been expected. The market has been too bullish, and these corrections happen. Though, the degree to which it corrected can be attributed to Trump's "America is open for business" rhetoric and the reality of too few promises being kept.
