I mean seriously. The metric system is perfect.
You have meters and grams as the basics and then you have kilo and mili (proper fucking prefixes) and so on to describe larger and smaller increments. Perfectly intuitive and makes complete sense.

Now what the fuck do we have here? Feet and yards. Literally what? I'm pretty sure the average person's foot aint no 12 inches long, and Iv'e never seen a 36inch long yard anywhere. What do any of these names even have to do with each other. What retarded kind of standardization pulls names form random shit for their random ass intervals, speaking of which why are the increments so fucking random?

Metric makes sense with thousandths (mili), hundredths (centi) a single unit and than a thousand times (killo)
Meanwhile in lolMurica we go by the most random bullshit. First increments of 12 (Inches to feet) then 3 (Feet to Yards)
and then 1760 (Yards to miles) out of fucking nowhere. Who the hell came up with this shit?

When I was in school I had to re-learn our system each year due to forgetting about it. The only parts of it I remember are inches and millimeters and the rest I have no idea how to read.

All units of measurement are arbitrary. Imperial is a more natural system that is useful when relating measurements to human features, especially useful in cooking, and metric provides scalar precision that is useful in science.

I use both systems.

When saying someone's height and weight, I go by feet/inches and pounds.

Otherwise, the metric is more precise. Using kilos for weight seems kind of pointless until you reach larger numbers.

Being in the UK has given me a sort of hybrid Imperi-metric measurements.

Speed is in miles, people's height and weight is in feet and stones, but inanimate objects are in metres and kilograms. Only conversion I know is an inch is 2.5cm, approx. the tip of a thumb to the upper joint.

Food is by mugs, because fuck am I buying a scales and doing maths just to cook food.

lbs is short for libras, the Roman measurement equal to 12oz. That's where we got it from.
