You ever thought about murdering a person?

And, have you ever seriously thought about hurting a person?
absolutely
to both

it wouldn't be in my best interest at this juncture to delineate everyone i've ever wanted to maim/kill, but rest assured, though i've had the desire, i've never had the impulse

i will say that the bulk of these people are indeed authorities

I don't know why peyote are saying Meta, every time I learn something new about him I cringe.
You used to be cool, man.
And so did you.
Then you went to college and started hanging out with chavs and became a conservative.

You used to be a starry eyed idealist who clung firmly to his beliefs and faced intense adversity head on.

Maybe its just me, but I liked Gentleman Marx a lot better than Meta Cognition.

but for starters stuff about the development of your current knowledge base
Reading a lot of Wikipedia articles to get a foundation, and then reading a lot of books to develop that.

Incredible economic prosperity as technology means we no longer need to work, and probably self-cannibalisation as society can't handle the lack of need for employment.

Wait, were the chavs conservatives who then convinced me? Or did having to spend time with chavs turn me into a conservative?

The two are presumably independant of each other, only you can tell.

What if I don't actually hang around chavs? What if I told you England's education system is good enough to weed out the fuck-nuggets by the time we reach college?

Or at least keep them separated from the rest of us.

He is Ainu.

I don't really understand the question.
To what extent are human ideas of existential factors arbitrary and unnecessary, and what does it mean for individuals in this age?
For example, the conceptualization of self, social systems and groups, aspiration at the expense of "happiness," what happiness "is."

All of these questions are things I'd ask Verb, additionally.

Depends on the idea, really.

Quote
the conceptualization of self
I think this is pretty important, but ultimately humans are collections of physiological and neurological properties. There is no fundamental substance to people; but I think we all have a psychological need to have an "identity".

Quote
social systems and groups
Would depend on the certain system.

Quote
aspiration at the expense of "happiness,"
Success above all else.

Quote
what happiness "is."
The realisation of aspirations.

Quote
Well now I'm curious about this.

Well, as I understand it, it's the replacement of traditionally Aristotelian premises involving "is" with "appears to be" or "probably" to remove certainty from logic. Which is fucking ridiculous, because anybody using logic in synthetic propositions should be shot.

This remains one of the problems about people using A logic trying to explain non-A logic. That article does a proper disservice to Korzybski himself.
I'm no authority on non-A semantics because I'm learning it myself, but multiordinal phrases for things which are highly important in context to their specific situation can always be discussed in a manner where an "answer" can be found and some meaning can be derived for functional purposes.
Rather than "removing certainty from logic," non-A semantics looks at the way we use verbal structures devised off of scientific and existential premises during Aristotle's time and modifies it with both from the 1930s. It uses mathematical concepts (because they relate phenomena in simplest terms verbally) what we know about situations, what we don't, and what can be derived.
That's a very rough and facile explanation, but it's worth looking into.
It's not that bad, honestly.
