Finally after more than a year of not having financial aid for over a year and a half, my appeal finally paid off. I got a letter back and my appeal was approved to my surprise.

I'm not going to disclose the amount of money I'll be receiving, but let's just say it's enough to make poor person happy. I won't be spending it that's for sure. I already have everything I need as far as my 2 classes go. I need to save money, now more than ever and have that amount grow overtime, especially if I get a job. Once I actually have extra money to spend, then I'll consider spending. It may not seem much, but in my eyes, this is an accomplishment.

Thanks Nuka. It took a lot to convince these people to get it back honestly. I had to appeal many times each semester. So many denies. Finally, I got approved after working my ass of and not dropping any classes late.

Indeed, especially if the deadline is like 1 week, and it sucks because that's how long it takes to know if your professor is any good or not.

Healthcare and education should not be financial burdens for anyone.

Fortunately my healthcare is paid for because I have coverage that's paid for by tax dollars, but I agree completely. But you know something.... It is what it is. I just need to deal with it.

The trick is to have a single mom, $40k income, and have both your mom and brother in college at the same time all while receiving $36k a year in social security which isn't counted towards income.

Unfortunately that isn't the case for me, but hey. Good to know.
