On the way home from a gig with my brother and his mates last night I ran into one of my poetry buddies on the train (very drunk) and he ended up sharing a poem with me, which I'll include here for the lulz...

...anyway, there was this feminist chick sitting across from us, one thing led to another, and it ended up turning into a debate/discussion on feminism, which remained pretty civil until my friend left the train. Then one of my brothers mates brought up anita sarkeesian, which degenerated into effectively the entire carriage (women and train guards included) ganging up on this feminist chick. It was kinda depressing.

I didn't pay any attention to gamergate, and I wasn't in the mood to follow the, uh.. 'conversation' last night, so could someone give a tl;dr description of anita sarkeesian? I don't want to trawl through the masses of internet speculation that seems to have built up. I trust you guys to give me an unbiased answer.

She's a feminist whose been making about 5 videos a year since 2010 on sexism in media. Most of her criticism stems from the fact that she takes tens of thousands of dollars from her followers to sit in front of a camera for for a few minutes every couple months and that a lot of her videos and claims are poorly researched.

I've only become familiar with her since she started appearing in the media claiming that the harassment she's been receiving from anonymous individuals is some kind of organized assault by the Gamergate movement.
