Coming at the end of a 17 year long relationship, after 15 years of being married, I can see in hindsight what the problems were. We should have split when she started acting with indifference to me. When she acted like she lost respect for me.

So, I can actually say now, with authority: If a chick acts like that to you, you don't need her. At all.

Find a girl who acts like she likes you. Who wants you to be you, and is grateful for the time you have together. It doesn't matter if she's a 10/10. Just find someone who makes you feel good.

If you hold on, and somehow force it... Then you end up in my shoes. nearly 20 years and 2 kids later, wonder what the hell you are going to do now. Wondering if its even worth finding someone to spend the back half with.
