Super Saiyan 3 was the biggest mistake of Dragon Ball.

Super saiyan does not take focus from martial arts, power levels did that. Also, if you want martial arts and not literally the same visuals but side characters commenting something about them being stronger and faster while they punch the air in front of their opponents really fast, then Dragon Ball really isn't what you're looking for.

The best fights in DBZ have been when Goku uses actual moves, like the fight with Broly.

I really hate DBZ. "Oh, this guy did this attack that I will learn about instead of seizing the opportunity to knock his teeth out while he's in shock.". I get the "I'll let him power up so I can fight him at his best", but there's a difference between the first and the second.

Used to be when someone got really powerful they got really powerful. Goku was able to beat Chichi through air pressure attacks, and Vegito was able to slash Buu's face through the air that flew by when he slashed his hand through the air. Now in Dragon Ball Super Vegito is back stronger than ever, and yet he feels as weak as Goku and the gang were after the fight with Piccolo, along with every other character from Super.

Some moves make sense, whereas others don't. Instead of realizing what works and then giving the fans what they want they make Dragon Ball Super Lame

I never said Super Saiyan took the focus away from martial arts. I said transformations, and the power levels that come with them, did that. Starting with, in my opinion, Super Saiyan 3.

I agree with you. I haven't seen it but from what I can tell, Super is mostly garbage.

I mean it's nice to see Toriyama putting effort in, and he has a unique way of writing shit so it's still enjoyable but... the capabilities of these characters just make it worse for me.

Goku used Super Saiyan 1 to stop Frieza and Trunks used it to kill him, Gohan used Super Saiyan 2 to kill Cell and non-canon wise Super Saiyan 4 was used to stop the villains in that series. What purpose was there in Super Saiyan 3, the form has a ridiculous power drain to the point where it's suicide to use it and it wasn't responsible for Buu's death.

Tbh I fucking hate Trunks as a kid. Never liked the pink hair and thought he was lame. Rewatching it when I was older changed my mind.

Agreed, Super has been picking up steam since the Battle of Gods and Resurrection F sagas were over, I've collected quite a few issues of the manga (including Jaco the Galactic Patrolman which is great) and plan to marathon the series once english Buu kai is out.
