Spoiler Star Wars Episode 8 Theories and Discussion Thread (may contain spoilers)

Since we had a discussion thread about Star Wars Episode 7, why not have one for 8? Which is titled The Last Jedi.

Here we can discuss and share anything in terms of episode 8, if you are going to post any spoilers, it would be wise to use spoiler tags in this thread, though those that enter in this thread are entering at their own risk. With that said I would like to get started with some of my own theories by posting it in a spoiler tag below.

Here's my theory, the movie picks up where it left off with TFA with Rey handing the lightsaber over to Luke. Luke ends up training her with everything that he knows, but while in the middle of training, she scenes that Poe and Finn are in danger and that they've been captured by Kylo Ren and tutored and needs to help them. Luke tells her that its likely a trap but she leaves to try and save them anyway. In short and in theory it follows similar events to episode 5 with her hand getting cut off by Kylo Ren's lightsaber. Then much later in the film Luke make's his way into the Starkiller and fights Kylo Ren, only to later pull an Obi Wan and become one with the force, then the Starkiller ends up destroying the planet that Princess Leia is on along with the others pretty much what happened with Alderaan in episode 4, only 10 times as bad, leaving Rey to be the last Jedi in the entire saga. But this is all just my shitty theory and I'm sure you guys will have better ones.

Do you have an interesting theories you'd like to share? I don't even know if actual Episode 8 spoilers even exist yet but if they do, then oh well. So much to theorizing what happens in episode 8. Anyway, what are your theories? What do you think is going to happen in Episode 8? Do you plan on seeing Episode 8?

Kylo Ren goes to the planet where the Rogue One crew died, gets their ashes, and reincarnates them and forces them to build another Death Star

Captain Phasma has a badass entrance in slow motion with fellow stormtroopers backing her up only to die in 5 seconds from Alliance forces. The guy that kills her shoots her with his eyes closed and says afterwards "This is easy!" and continues to fire on the rest of the forces.

The First Order finds the planet where Rey and Luke are on but find out that there's a giant space tentacle monster that guards the sector and rapes star destroyers so the First Order shoots a sun towards the planet.

That wouldn't work at all, though. Lightsabers don't just effortlessly cut through stuff (Qui Gon cutting open blast doors, Luke fighting Vader and his lightsaber deflecting off a wall, etc). Neat idea, though.

There were very few elements to TFA that weren't borrowed in some way from the OT. I question how original the next couple movies could possibly be just based on what the foundation for them is. If we start getting stuff like Rey getting visions of her friends being in trouble and leaving her training, I'm going to just be pissed.
