IIRC Garfield's a raving SJW who wanted to fuck with the source material by turning Spider-Man gay in the films. Not that I have a problem with gay characters, but it's better to create new ones instead of fucking with existing well known characters, especially someone like Spider-Man. I'd have the same issue if they tried to turn a well established gay character straight.

Okay, having just woke I decided to google and see what's up. They don't have the full rights back unfortunately and Amy Pascal is going to help produce. Not sure which is worse in that last sentence.

Most likely. He'll be in Cap 3 civil war first, then marvel will co-produce the reboot solo film. It's very likely he'll be in Avengers 3 cause it's easy money for Sony. Marvel made more money with unheard of heroes in Guardians of the Galaxy than Sony did with one of the most iconic heroes.
