Salvia is banned in some US states, but eating it regularly is not harmful. It's not recommended to consume because of its capabilities to force someone to hallucinate, but you can purchase the actual plants at a good number of stores. It wasn't approved whether or not it is considered harmful, since ingesting through the mouth (NOT SMOKING) has not shown outcomes that were negative beyond the expected effects.
