I never understood why people hated midichlorians so much. It makes sense that some people are more force-sensitive than others.

People like Luke had it come naturally to them, and so did everyone in Luke's bloodline. There has to be some explanation there, and midichlorians fit the bill.
I started with TPM, so I never felt the "mystery" of the Force.
