I've said it was a bad comparison twice in this thread. The point I was trying to make was that it shouldn't even be an issue in today's society and people who see it as some brain-damaging drug are living in the past.

People can live their lives however they want. Teetotalism is often a respectable conviction. I don't condone hard drugs and support moderation or abstaining from alcohol and smoking anyway.

Labels are for practicality and convenience, they aren't inherently egotistical. Some people just use them that way.

I don't need to label myself for being sober simply because saying "I'm sober" should be enough.
