I love this movie, it's just so damn good. I'm not a massive history buff so a lot of the accurate things in the movie went completely over my head at first, but I still really enjoyed it. I swear Tom Hanks just makes anything good.

What did you think of the film, is it just a semi decent war flick, overrated trash, do you love it?

It spurred a good number of memes other war movies utilize.

The rest is honestly not all that amazing. Not terrible, has it's really good moments, but doesn't compare to how well the start was.

i don't think i've seen one other war movie that i didn't think was better than SPR

the opening scene is really all it ever had going for it imo

SPR is probably better than that, at least

Jarhead isn't really a war movie.
It was p. good tho.

I liked The Lost Battalion quite a bit more.

The major killed himself after the war though.
