As I feared, the blood is slightly off-putting just because it's literally never been present before. It just comes off a little fan-fictiony, like when people write swears in the dialogue of characters who never actually swear in the source material? It's a little distracting, but whatever.

If he meets them I hope he's visibly creeped out by themThere's this great theory that I'm believing until proven otherwise that Aku knows about them, but purposely avoids them because they're too creepyit's so funny and in character

of course, the blood here is much more graphic
and it's used purposely (not senselessly) to highlight the moral conflict of killing another human - you know, the plot.
Jack has never been faced with a human dying at his hands before
Quote from: SecondClass on March 19, 2017, 11:07:13 PMJack has never been faced with a human dying at his hands beforecongratulations, you have identified the point
And you obviously missed it if you're bitching about a necessary result of it

Complain about THAT in your initial post - "I don't like where they took the plot this season". Don't turn me off from any legitimate criticisms you might have by whining about something so banal and necessary.
Jack has always been presented as a normal person. He gets scared, he gets lonely, there's an entire episode in season 3 about him giving up the fight. To say these thoughts are unprecedented or unbelievable after 50 years of constant combat honestly means you don't know shit about the show.
i'm talking about jack's physical conflicts this season, not emotional conflictssilly personand even then, i'm not questioning whether it's believable--i'm questioning why it's even taking place to begin withwhy did this series need jack to kill human beings for the sake of drama--is that really what the show needed
"does he need to be going through these conflicts"yes, he fucking doesthe whole show has been building up to them
and yeah, he needs to kill a human because that's a plot point that's dying to be addressed. (him killing sentient robots/humans in the original series and feeling seemingly nothing over it)
you're a fucking moron tbh
does jack necessarily need to be going through these conflicts, when it's so tonally inconsistent with the rest of the series, making it feel as though a fan wrote it
if jack killed maybe two or three real humans in the original series, it would feel less jarring
