i've never seen a rude customer in my life

 i've been to restaurants/fast food places hundreds and hundreds of times but i've never seen someone being messed up

My mother and her boyfriend were visiting last year for my birthday. We went out to dinner and mother's boyfriend, Mike, ordered a steak. I forget how he wanted it done, but it wasn't to his liking the first time, so he demanded another one. So he got a second one which, again, wasn't to his satisfaction. He then proceeded to call our waitress and the cooks incompetent and a slew of other rude remarks and just made a giant scene out of it. Now, I can understand him getting frustrated over his food not being prepared how he wanted it. But going on to demean the staff, make an ass of himself, and embarrass me, my mother, and the rest of my family in front of a packed restaurant full of strangers was out of line.

That's the only instance of a rude costumer I've personally seen. Thankfully during my year working in retail, I was in the  back room, so I rarely had to interact with customers.

Some customers yet again from behind mistaking me as a girl, slapped my arse on the way out. The look on their faces when they realized.

It's not the fact I got slapped that annoyed me
Not the rudeness
Not the situation after

It's the fact it bloody hurt, do they really slap girls that hard?

No but seriously guys rude customers suck to deal with. What are some good examples of bad customers that you have experienced?

Working on people cars I can agree with you. Some  people just like to tell you how to do your job and what should be done. I am doing them a service of fixing their car if they don't like it leave

Heh yeah my fiancé is a mechanic, and there's a reason customers aren't allowed in the bay areas, and it's not just for their safety from falling cars... 

I guess that's the perks of anxiety. Instead of getting mad when a customer yells at me, I just turn into an apologetic blob.

ah.. mcdonalds has worse customers than starbucks. at least youre in a store that is has a paywall of expensive coffee while i can get meth addicts because they have a dollar and loose change.

I'm paranoid, and thus I try to take actions that are non-memorable. Prime, your anxiety may have caused you to be the small guy in most situations, but what if you became a big guy that made the other person feel so embarrassed that he decided to plot some kind of revenge against you?

These are the kind of thoughts I think about when running into trouble. I think it's important to remain neutral, but then again, I'm just paranoid.

But I actually have had coworkers snap at me for being forgetful/annoying. Anxiety is like paranoia in the sense that it's obsessing over a hypothetical issue.

My butts actually pretty normal sized.
