Yes, exactly. You make your own story and it will be parallel to the others and will somehow come together. Like my character could appear in your story because of the plot direction.

Ingy learned of secret organization of mercenaries which took him in as an apprentice. He learned to hack and fight and became a mercenary for those who would hire him, good or evil.
