Goodness gracious, great balls of lightning!
I like that some bands take their older stuff and remaster it, making it sound better as if it released today. Some bands are great at doing it, but some bands destroy their work by doing it for whatever reason.

Take Megadeth for example. The Cryptic Writings album is an album that's not that popular or liked by fans of the band but I enjoy it a ton and I think its great, one of their best albums with the last great lineup. The original version of the album sounds flawless but Dave Mustard Stain went with a George Lucas approach and added stuff to some of the songs, changed them, and removed some things too in the remastered version. Nothing major, but easily noticeable when listening and it just doesn't feel right. He did this for every album pre-2000 and it's rare to find the original versions anywhere.

Iron Maiden I think are a good example for remastering their music. The only change I noticed on their older stuff was the removal of the intro from the song Powerslave which was basically the outro of the previous song Back in the Village. Other than that, their music sounds really great in the original and remastered versions respectively.

This is not the greatest sig in the world, no. This is just a tribute.
Remastering the original tracks is dumb. Takes away the sound of the era and usually it's just compressing everything while sliding up the faders to make the CD's audio levels acceptable to the ear of post-loudness-wars listeners when played after a more recent album.

Re-record it full out or leave it alone.

The angel agreed to trade a set of white wings for the head of another demon. Overjoyed, the demon killed one of his own and plucked the head right off its still-warm body.

The angel then led the demon to heaven, where he underwent centuries of the cruelest tortures imaginable. Finally, the pain was so great that he lost consciousness - at which point his dark wings turned the promised shade of white.
Cant say im a fan. They lose that rough sound and the bass gets all fucked up in metals case.

Long live NoNolesNeckin.

Ya fuckin' ganderneck.
One of my favorite artists, Sithu Aye, remastered his first album Cassini and I enjoyed it thoroughly, but that's probably the only remaster I've ever really listened to.

Excuse me, I'm full of dog poison
I like things to sound more raw than manufactured and unfortunately most remasters do the latter. Unless we're talking electronic music I want that shit dirty.
